• Teaching is one of the Banc de Sang i Teixits' strategic areas. In recent years, transfusion medicine has undergone major changes, which is why, in conjunction with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, we have created the Postgraduate Diploma in Transfusion Medicine, which aims to provide specialist training in the field of transfusion medicine, from the donation of blood and tissues to their use in recipients.
• We also work with hospital nursing schools and higher-education colleges in Catalonia.
Top-level haemotherapy professionals from the Banc de Sang i Teixits are also engaged in both internal and external training.
LIRAD's professionals are lecturers at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where they teach medical students (Badalona Teaching Unit and at the Hospital del Mar) and biology and biotechnology students (Bellaterra campus). They also teach Master’s students studying immunology at the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. LIRAD is an accredited Medical Resident Intern (M.I.R.) centre and offers one student place per year.
