Diagnosis, transfusion medicine and homeostasis are at the centre of the Banc de Sang i Teixit’s research

  • The organization's mission determines our lines of investigation
  • Our Research Report describes our past activity
  • More than 50 professionals do research at our institution

The principle investigative activity of the Banc de Sang i Teixits over this past year has been focused on diagnosis, transfusion medicine and homeostasis, in line with our organization's mission. However, we have also done research in hematopoietic transplants, immunotherapy and regenerative medicine. All of this is explained in the 2014 Research Report, which can be downloaded in PDF form by clicking on this link.

Fifty professionals from the BST have dedicated part of their time to research. They're currently working on 56 projects, half of which in collaboration with other entities.

In 2014, we began the BST's internal pre-doctorate grants program. This competitive challenge has allowed us to incorporate two graduate student researchers who have begun their career as investigators at BST.

The objective of this program is to encourage our investigative talent and promote investigators' loyalty to the institution, while offering support to our various Principal Investigators so that they can continue to work on their projects.

The search for quality defines research activity at BST, in all its areas.
