Genomics Platform
The Genomics Platform is a core research and innovation infrastructure dedicated to high-resolution sequencing and advanced molecular analysis. Supporting research, clinical, and innovation activities across BST, the platform integrates next-generation sequencing (NGS), long-read sequencing, and transcriptomic technologies to address complex biological, genetic, and translational research questions.
Combining state-of-the-art technological capabilities with multidisciplinary expertise, the platform supports both competitive research projects and collaborative clinical studies. Its work contributes to advancing biomedical genetics through the characterization of structural genomic variants, the identification and interpretation of rare genetic alterations, and the implementation of third-generation sequencing approaches for diagnostic and translational applications.
The platform also plays a strategic role in BST's advanced therapy programs, providing molecular quality control for CAR-T cell manufacturing and other cell-based therapies to ensure genetic integrity, product quality, and traceability throughout the production process. In addition, it actively contributes to international genomic surveillance initiatives, including SARS-CoV-2 monitoring programs, supporting the detection and characterization of emerging viral variants.
Through a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach, the Genomics Platform accelerates the integration of precision medicine into research, clinical practice, and advanced therapy development, enabling the translation of genomic discoveries into improved diagnostics, patient
