Second consensus protocol of the Catalan PTT Group

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (PTT) is a rare disorder (10 cases/1,000,000 inhabitant/year) that manifests as a thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), severely affecting the organs.

It is an extremely serious disease if appropriate treatment is not provided early. Mortality without standard treatment is as high as 90%.
