Blood and blood product transfusion

If you have received a blood transfusion or blood components in the following list of countries, you must postpone donation until 4 months after the transfusion.

  1. Non-EU: United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland and Norway.
  2. EU: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland (EIRE), Spain, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Sweden.

If you have had a transfusion in the following countries, we regret to inform you that you cannot donate:

  1. Andorra, France and/or the United Kingdom after 1980. (People who received transfusions before this date are not excluded.)
  2. People who have received transfusions in any other country not included in the section above.
