AIDS

We're sorry, but you cannot be a blood donor if you have the disease or anti-HIV antibodies.

If you live with someone who has the disease or has antibodies, you can be a donor provided you are not a sexual partner.

If you are a sexual partner, you cannot donate until 1 year has passed since your last sexual contact.

If you have received HIV prophylaxis, you can donate once 1 year has passed since the end of the treatment and you have been medically discharged.

If you have been exposed to the blood of a person with HIV, you must wait 1 year before giving blood.
