Abscesses

• Acute infection: you must put off giving blood until two weeks have passed since your full recovery. If you have been taking antibiotics, you must wait two weeks from the end of the course of treatment. If you have a pending appointment with your doctor, you must wait until this has taken place.
• Serious chronic infection: we regret to inform you that under these circumstances you cannot give blood.
