High-risk professions and activities
If you engage in a high-risk job or pastime, such as that of a bus, taxi, train or ambulance driver, pilot, air traffic controller, firefighter, mountaineer, climber, diver, submariner, operator of heavy machinery (crane, etc.), miner, high-altitude worker, skier, motorcyclist, racing driver, parachutist, and so on, you can donate blood once your work shift and/or sporting activity has finished. You should allow 12-24 hours of rest (a good night's sleep) between the giving blood and resuming your work and/or sporting activities.
For cabin crew, such as pilots or flight attendants, you must not work until 24 hours after donating.
