Infectious diseases

• Acute infection (such as tonsillitis, an ear infection, etc.): you must put off giving blood until two weeks after you have healed and recovered. If you have taken antibiotics, you must wait two weeks from the end of the course of treatment. If you have a pending appointment with your doctor, you must wait until you have seen him or her.
• Severe chronic infection: we are sorry to inform you that under these circumstances you cannot give blood.
