In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

The most recently discovered coronavirus causes the disease coronavirus COVID-19.

If you have been in contact with someone who has had COVID-19 but you are fully vaccinated and have no symptoms, you can give blood as usual.
