Glaucoma
If you have needed urgent care, either because of the onset of the condition or due to a complication, it is not advisable to give blood until the situation has stabilised.
Once this phase has passed, you can give blood if you are receiving treatment with eye drops and/or are taking oral antihypertensive medication and your pulse at the time of donation is over 60 beats per minute.
Some oral treatments lower the heart rate below these figures and can cause adverse effects during blood donation.
